Chapter I · The short answer

Three numbers, and no surprises on the invoice

A one-page site is $1,250. A multi-page site built to be found on Google is $3,000. A site that sells online or has a booking calendar built in is $5,000. Those are the whole build, one-off, agreed in writing before anything starts. Already take bookings through Cliniko, Timely, Fresha or similar? Every site includes a Book button that links straight to it.

No GST is added, because Haven is not registered for it, so the figure you are quoted is the figure you pay. If that ever changes, the prices will say so.

Which of the three you need is not about how big your business is. It is about how many different things people type into Google when they need what you sell.

Chapter II · The drivers

What actually moves the price

  1. 01

How many different things people search for

This is the big one, and it is not the same question as how many pages you want. Google ranks pages, not sections, so five separate services need five pages that can each rank, while a photographer found by name needs one. What costs the hours is the number of page DESIGNS, because one design can render many pages.

  2. 02

Whether money or bookings move through the site

A site that takes an order or a booking is a different build from one that takes an enquiry: a payment path, stock or availability, tax and shipping, and real consequences when any of it is wrong. That is why the top build is a step up and not a few hundred dollars more. A calendar for one person is ordinary; several staff, rooms, deposits or two-way calendar sync are each quoted on their own. A Book button that links to the booking system you already use is a different thing, and every build includes one.

  3. 03

Whether the words and the photographs exist yet

This moves the launch date more than the build does, and almost nobody budgets for it. Bring what you have, early, and we find out quickly what is missing. I can help with both.

  4. 04

How much changes after you see it

Every build includes rounds of changes, which is why a fixed price can stay fixed. You approve each screen before anything is built, where changes are cheap. If a build grows past what was agreed, it is quoted before I start.

Chapter III · The quote

Six questions worth asking, whoever is quoting

Two honest quotes can differ by thousands because they are not describing the same thing. These questions find the difference, with my own answer under each.

Is the price fixed, or is it an estimate?
Fixed, agreed in writing before anything starts, with a date. An hourly estimate is not a price, and the difference shows up at the end rather than the beginning.
Do I own the site, or am I renting a platform?
You own it. Every build is WordPress, hand-coded, with no page builder underneath and no licence that stops working if you leave. Your domain is registered in your name from day one. I can set it up and look after the renewals, and you can take it over whenever you like.
Is a logo included?
No, and this is where I would check any quote carefully. Business and Business Premium builds include a colour palette and a pair of typefaces chosen for your business, applied across the site and handed over. A logo is not part of it. If you need one, I quote it separately.
What does it cost to keep online next year?
Hosting, and that is the whole of it. There is no licence renewal and no per-page fee. The figures are below, and they are the same ones the pricing cards carry.
What happens when I need a change in six months?
You can make it yourself. You get your own WordPress login and a walkthrough before launch, so words, photos and prices are yours to change. If you would rather not touch it, Priority care covers the updates and your changes each month. Anything bigger is quoted up front.
Who is actually building it?
Me, from the first conversation to the last change. Nobody is subcontracted and there is no account manager between us. That is the single biggest reason these prices are what they are.
Chapter IV · After launch

What it costs to keep it running

The build is one-off. The only standing cost is hosting, which keeps the site online, backed up and up to date. No licence to renew, nothing per page.

Hosting from $8 a month. Priority care from $50 a month, with up to an hour of changes included.

Standard
$8/mo
Business
$15/mo
Business Premium
$25/mo

A Standard build includes its first year of hosting free. After that, and on the other two builds from launch, it is the monthly rate above and nothing else.

What care and support covers
Chapter V · Which one

Which build is yours

  1. Standard $1,250 A one-page site to put your name and your work online. Creatives, makers & single-service sole traders.
  2. Business $3,000 A multi-page WordPress site built to get found. Cafes, salons, shops & multi-service businesses.
  3. Business Premium $5,000 For businesses selling online or needing a booking calendar built in. Shops & studios that run bookings on their own site.
